Production workers:
As a Production Worker in our Primary Processing Department, you’ll play an
important role in the efficient operation of the Live Hang and Spin Chill areas. Your
main focus will be on the safe handling of live birds, effective processing and chilling
of poultry, and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, food safety, and
product quality.

This position supports continuous production flow, minimises waste, and helps
achieve daily production targets while following all regulatory, company, and safety
requirements. Success in this role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and full
compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Health and
Safety (OH&S) standards, and food safety procedures to ensure consistent product
quality and operational excellence.

Your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Safely hang live birds on production lines in accordance with animal welfare
    standards
  • Perform processing tasks including pin feathering, grading, deboning, packing, and chilling of poultry
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain processing and chilling equipment efficiently
  • Inspect birds and products to ensure quality and food safety standards are
    met
  • Accurately weigh, label, and package poultry products as per company
    specifications
  • Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards across work areas and
    equipment
  • Handle manual tasks and lifting (up to 20 kg) safely using correct techniques
  • Report defects, hazards, or equipment faults promptly to supervisors
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily
    production targets
  • Support continuous production flow, minimise waste, and assist with cleaning
    and sanitising tasks at shift end

  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Able to work with a diverse group of staff
  • Meet the physical demands of the role – Ability to stand for extended periods,
    perform repetitive tasks, and lift heavy objects

Successful candidate must have:

  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct
  • Consistently meeting production targets
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance needs to Leading Hands/Supervisors
  • Bendigo based or willingness to relocate to the Bendigo and arrange own
    commute
  • Demonstrating good punctuality, reliability, and communication skills
  • Maintaining physical fitness and health for a physically demanding role, with
    competence in manual lifting and proper techniques
  • Possessing valid work rights in Australia
